FCT, Abuja - Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, will return to the National Assembly later this month after completing her six-month suspension.

“Actually, she’s ready to resume her term. She’s in London. Everything is in place, and the six months have expired. The only thing left is her resumption,” Giwa said.
Senate leadership expected to welcome her
The lawyer expressed confidence that Senate leaders would not obstruct her return, Punch reported.
“We have been told that even the leadership of the Senate is ready to welcome her. So that’s the situation at the moment. There is no obstacle at all,” he assured.
Natasha vs Akpabio: Suspension followed dispute in chamber
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended on 6 March after allegations of insubordination, arising from her refusal to accept a change of her designated seat during plenary.
The suspension, recommended by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, also stripped her of aides, office privileges, and salaries.
The lawmaker insisted her ordeal was linked to a petition in which she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, a claim the Senate dismissed.

Following her suspension, she challenged the decision in court, claiming a favourable judgment for her recall. However, the Senate leadership maintained that she would remain suspended until the penalty expired.
Her attempt to re-enter the chamber in July ended in a standoff, as security operatives barred her despite the presence of a large crowd of supporters outside, Vanguard reported.
With the suspension officially ending last Saturday, Giwa said pending legal battles would no longer pose a barrier.
“Everything will be resolved. Even the court cases will become like an academic exercise,” he noted.
Efforts to get the reaction of the Senate leadership were unsuccessful, as calls and messages to Senate spokesman Yemi Adaramodu and Akpabio’s media aide were not returned.
