He added that from day one, Ojulari had “signalled a break from business as usual,” implementing reforms across operational transparency, fiscal discipline, and global competitiveness that he described as “bold by any measure.”

How NNPCL boss revamped procurement processes

Eze highlighted that Ojulari’s revamp of governance and procurement processes had saved the company billions of naira in potential losses.

He also praised the GMD’s hands-on leadership style, saying Ojulari personally scrutinised project briefs, reviewed compliance reports, and engaged directly with technical teams, which he called “an antidote to entrenched inefficiency.”

The analyst warned that Ojulari’s reforms had drawn resistance from those whose influence and illicit gains were threatened.

Eze urged the presidency and stakeholders across the oil and gas sector to support Ojulari, stating,

“As the vultures of corruption circle, it is imperative that right-thinking Nigerians, the presidency, and stakeholders reject attempts to malign Ojulari’s legacy-in-the-making. Nigeria can ill afford to lose yet another opportunity to get it right.”

He added that Ojulari’s tenure, though ongoing, had already demonstrated that “public institutions can be reoriented to serve the people, attract global investment, and reclaim lost credibility.”

With his reforms still unfolding, the analyst said Ojulari is positioned to transform NNPCL into a world-class national oil company, strengthening Nigeria’s economic engine and restoring confidence in its institutions.
