Obi Cubana’s Club, Hustle & Bustle Officially Reacts to Death of Female Clubber

  • After a long silence, the management of Hustle & Bustle has officially released a statement concerning Late Susan Oleghe
  • The club sympathised with the family of the deceased and confirmed that the police are investigating the matter
  • The club is owned by popular businessman and entertainment entrepreneur, Obinna Oyiegbu also known as Obi Cubana

FCT, Abuja - Popular Abuja nightclub, Hustle & Bustle has officially reacted to the recent controversy surrounding the incident that allegedly happened at its facility relating to a young female clubber who was said to have collapsed while at the fun spot.

In an official statement released by the management and seen by Legit.ng, the club noted that the incident is a setback to its operations, but noted that efforts are in place to ensure that the facility is safe for fun lovers.

Part of the statement read:

“Indeed, the loss of a customer is a blow that hit us harder than we could have imagined, particularly because of the unexpected nature of her demise.

“We want to extend our heartfelt sympathy once more to the family of the deceased; we pray that the almighty God will continue to grant them the fortitude to bear this painful loss.
“Despite the myriad of question and assumptions out in the public, we had earnestly refrained from making any statement until this moment for two reasons; mainly because we had to join the family and friends to mourn a beautiful life that was taken too soon, and to enable the police to extensively conduct and carry out their investigations.
“It, therefore, behooves on us at this moment to inform the general public of these series of facts;

“On the 14th of November 2021, a dear customer whilst leaving our premises tripped and fell and this led to her painful and untimely death.
“Owing to this tragedy, our management reached a decision to shut down our business so as to adequately mourn the deceased, and also allow the police unfettered access to conduct their investigations.
“On that fateful morning, the deceased after leaving the club, was happily playing around with her friends, when she made a slight run, tripped and fell down a few meters to the car park, and became unconscious. Sadly, she passed on, on their way to the hospital.”

Nigeria Police Force intervenes, begins investigations

The statement confirmed that the Nigeria Police Force has carried out their investigations and thoroughly reviewed the CCTV footage.

The statement added:

“We assure the public that we have employed several health and safety standards and we will continue to place safety over profit.

Legit.ng had earlier reported that a video purported to have captured the incident leading to the collapse of a female clubber at Abuja Club, Hustle & Bustle emerged online recently.

The incident which led to the death of the lady identified as Susan Oleghe, had since generated controversy.

It had initially been circulated in the media that the lady was electrocuted, but a trending video has now shown someone collapsed in the premises of the club with some people claiming the person in the video is the late Oleghe.

FCT police command reaction to the unfortunate incident

Recall that the FCT police spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, had admitted that the command is aware of the development and that investigation into it is ongoing.

Adeh added that the police have also ordered an autopsy report on Susan's remains to ascertain the cause of her death, saying:

“We are going to carry out an autopsy to determine the cause of death.”
