After Talk with Tinubu, Orji Kalu Meets Another APC Ex-governor, Photos Emerge

Abuja - The Senate's chief whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Sunday, November 21, had a closed-door meeting with Ali Modu Sheriff, a former governor of Borno state.

News of the meeting was announced by Kalu on his Facebook page on Sunday.

The former Abia governor stated that Sheriff is a contender for the national chairmanship of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Meanwhile, the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, held a meeting with a Kalu in Abuja, the nation's capital.

The former governor of Lagos arrived at the Kalu’s residence at exactly 4:25 pm on Saturday, November 20.

Legit.ng gathered that the two politicians were said to have hugged each other and exchanged cordial pleasantries.

They were said to have engaged in a closed-door meeting afterward. It was gathered that before the closed-door meeting; Kalu expressed gratitude to God for Tinubu’s speedy recovery.

Tinubu returned to Nigeria on October 8 after spending some months in London, where he had knee surgery.

Tinubu later opened up what he discussed with Kalu in his Abuja residence on Saturday, November 20.

Tinubu who was strongly believed to be nursing a presidential ambition in 2023 was at Kalu’s residence for over two hours of the closed-door meeting.

Speaking after the meeting, the former governor of Lagos state said his meeting with Kalu “centred on the development of the country”.

He said;

"We discussed the way forward for the country and this country is important and greater than anyone’s personal ambition.
“We have been together and concerned about the stability, progress, development, and security of the country.
“The future of our youth is more critically important than selfish and personal intentions."
