Popular American rapper, Nicki Minaj, has now agreed that Nigerian star, Wizkid’s Essence song should have been better recognised by the Grammys.

The music star recently had a talk with American media personality, Joe Budden, and they touched on different issues including the Grammy Awards.

During the interview, Budden mentioned that the Grammy board needs people that know that Wizkid’s Essence was song of the year.

To that, Nicki Minaj enthusiastically agreed as she nodded her head and said “right!! right!!”

Wizkid bags 2 Grammy nominations

Legit.ng had earlier reported that Wizkid had bagged two Grammy nominations ahead of the award show.

Wizkid made the 64th Grammy Awards' list under the category of the Best Global Music Performance and the Best Global Music Album.

Wizkid's music Essence would be battling against Angelique Kidjo and Burna Boy's Do Yourself, Femi Kuti's PÀ PÁ PÀ, Yo-Yo Ma and Angelique Kidjo Blewu, and Arooj Aftab Mohabbat, under the best global music performance category.

In the Best Global Music Album category, Wizkid's Made In Lagos Deluxe Edition was listed alongside four others including Nigeria's Femi and Made Kuti, Angelique Kidjo, and two others.
