Temi Otedola’s decision to drop her billionaire father Femi Otedola’s surname after marrying singer Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has stirred mixed reactions online.

Recall that shortly after she shared a picture from her white wedding with Mr Eazi, social media users noticed changes on Temi's Instagram bio. It now displayed her new name, Temi Ajibade, replacing her maiden name with the singer's surname.

Her gesture, however, didn’t go well with many, including a Nigerian lady whose video questioning Temi’s decision has since gone viral.

The lady queried why Temi would change a powerful surname like Otedola just because she got married.

According to her, Mr Eazi chose to marry Temi because of her surname. Criticising why women drop their maiden names after marriage, she added that Mr Eazi should have been the one to change his surname, considering how powerful Otedola is.

"How can you change a surname as powerful as Otedola because of marriage? They came to you because of the name, now you’re changing it. Men are getting married to you because of what you have, because of power, what you can bring to the table. Who knows Ajibade? Must you change your surname?" the lady said in part.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported a viral debate on social media as netizens compared Chivido with Otedola's daughter's wedding.

Actor Uche Maduagwu shared his opinion as he claimed Davido didn't get financial assistance from his in-laws compared to Mr Eazi.

The actor also claimed the Unavailable crooner turned down assistance from his billionaire father, Deji Adeleke.
