The post came in the wake of rumours linking him to the theft of a luxury wristwatch during Afrobeats star Davido’s wedding in Miami over the weekend; an allegation both he and Davido have strongly quashed.

The controversy began when a blog post circulated on social media, alleging Franklin’s involvement in the disappearance of the expensive wristwatch. Ubi Franklin responded by outlining the events that unfolded in Miami.

According to him, a man named Benny had initially offered to sell him a watch, which he declined after checking its history.

Later, Benny’s brother delivered another watch, which Franklin said he bought and paid for in full.

He explained that due to the busy wedding schedule, he ended up holding both watches but left Miami immediately after the ceremony to attend his sister’s funeral. Benny himself, Franklin noted, has publicly debunked the theft claim.

Ubi Franklin expresses hurt

In a recent Instagram post, Ubi Franklin reflected on the personal impact of the situation, describing feelings of deep loss and sadness. He revealed that the incident had forced him to question why his kindness isn't reciprocated.

Stressing his commitment to friendship and loyalty, he admitted the episode had pushed him to a breaking point.

Ubi Franklin further noted that he is now focusing on self-care, reflection, and surrounding himself with a supportive network, while also setting stronger boundaries.
