Meet Kano-born Adamu Who Holds Double Professorships From Top Nigerian University, "He Made History"

Kano, Kano state - Bashir Ahmad, former special assistant on digital communications to late ex-president Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, September 10, paid tributes to Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu.
In a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, Ahmad described Adamu achievements in education as "remarkable".

Adamu, from Kano state, is a former vice-chancellor (VC) of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
Legit.ng reports that the 69-year-old taught media and science education courses in many Nigerian universities and around the world, including serving as a European Union (EU) visiting professor at the University of Warsaw, Poland, in 2012, visiting professor, Rutgers University, New Jersey, and visiting professor, University of Florida in 2010.
Prof Abdalla Adamu celebrated
Adamu holds double professorships in Science Education (1997) and Media and Cultural Communication (2012) from Bayero University, Kano (BUK). According to Ahmad, Prof. Adamu "remains the only person in the north to achieve this rare feat."

"He remains the only person in the North to achieve this rare feat. Beyond teaching and research, he is well-known for his work on Hausa language, history, culture, films and the impact of social media. In the 1990s, he pioneered the digital representation of Hausa special characters (ɓ, Ɓ, ɗ, Ɗ, ƙ, Ƙ) on computers.
"He served as Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (2016–2021), introducing reforms in distance learning.

Kano emir earns PhD
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, added another feather to his academic cap by bagging a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
The ceremony, held at Friends House, London, drew select friends and prominent Nigerians invited by the traditional ruler to witness what he described as “a significant milestone” in his academic journey.
