Kebbi Entrepreneur Boosts Business, Moves Community Forward With PalmPay Hustle Grant

His centre empowers young people to learn cybersecurity, AI, and digital skills, and has become a beacon of knowledge in his community.
Sadly, one challenge kept slowing him down: unreliable power supply.
In his video entry to the PalmPay Hustle Grant Campaign, Shehu said:
“Constant outages make it difficult to serve my customers and train students.”
Thanks to PalmPay, Shehu’s worries are over, as he had emerged as one of the first winners of the PalmPay Hustle Grant, taking home a ₦500,000 grant to invest in solar inverters.
Shehu believes that he can he can keep his hub running, train even more students, and expand his services, despite the electricity situation in his community.
Good news is, Shehu isn’t alone. Three other inspiring entrepreneurs also secured the grant, each turning their hustle into impact:
John Adekunle Akinloye (Greentead Farms NG, Oyo State)
John’s mission is to reduce post-harvest losses by processing tomatoes into puree. This would extend shelf life and reduce waste. With the grant from PalmPay, John plans to upscale packaging and distribution, thereby creating more opportunities for local farmers.
Abimbola Janet (Fashion entrepreneur, Lagos)
Abimbola, who once carried nylon bags full of fabrics across the city, is now ready to set up her dream shop. Her grant will help her stock up on fabrics, buy equipment, and give her an opportunity to run her fashion business from a proper space.
Benjamin (Fashion designer Jos)
Benjamin, a bespoke menswear designer with big dreams, plans to use his grant to set up a professional fashion studio, buy mannequins, and invest in high-resolution cameras to boost his digital presence.
Together, these four winners showcase how the Hustle Grant is more than just financial support; it is a catalyst for real change
