- People living in the south east have stayed at home as ordered by IPOB

- The protest is expected to pressurise the government to release Nnamdi Kanu

Markets and usually-busy roads in the southeast are deserted as citizens stay at home to conform to the Biafra stay-at-home protest.

The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) had asked residents in the region to stay at home to protest the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu who is the leader of the group and the director of Radio Biafra.

Kanu was detained by security operatives in 2015 and is being held at Kuje prison where he is facing treasonable charges.
