We Have Recovered Rocket Launchers Facility, Weaponry In Kano – Nigerian Army
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has discovered a rocket launcher production facility in Kano State, Director of Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, said on Friday.
The facility was uncovered at Dorayi District in Kumbotso LGA after a cordon-and-search exercise.
DHQ also recovered a locally-made anti-aircraft gun, mortar accessories, rocket-propelled grenade tubes, as well as AK47 rifles and hundreds of rounds of assorted ammunitions.
"The discovery followed the arrest of a prominent member of the terrorist group," Olukolade said.
Olukolade called on the public to always report suspicious persons to security agencies to help prevent possible terrorist acts.
On May 18, four people were killed in a suicide bomb attack launched on Sabon Gari area of Kano city.
