Why Kaduna APC Condemned Law Banning Okada

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized the law signed by Kaduna State governor banning the use of commercial motorcycles, popularly known as okada, in some areas of the state.

The opposition party made this known in a statement released today in Kaduna, NAN reports. The statement condemning the bill reads in part:

"In spite of the well-informed appeals and advice of people from all walks of life, the state Governor, Dr. Mukhtar Yero has chosen to take the unpopular steps. The action will pose additional problems on the lives of citizens and the economy of the state."

APC also said that the ban would not only increase unemployment level but also threaten security, while the main objective of the law was reportedly to reinforce security in the state.
