Boko Haram Kill 8 Persons In Jigawa, Promise To Return

Eight persons were killed, while at least four were wounded in the early hours of April 9, 2014, Wednesday, when unknown gunmen invaded Gwaram Sabuwa, Gwaram local government area of Jigawa state.

The gunmen, suspected to be the members of the radical Islamist Boko Haram sect, entered the town in cars between 2 and 4 am in the morning, bombed the police station before shooting everyone on sight.

According to the residents, there were about 20 of attackers, who seeded death and chaos, caused severe damage and left the town unhindered.

The gunmen threatened to come back if the people did not to stop enrolling their children in schools, stop accepting polio vaccination and close down all the football viewing centres in the town.

According to Saharareporters, the Assistant Inspector of Police in charge of zone 1, Mr Tambari Yabo confirmed the attack and the killings.

It would be noted that this was the third time Gwaram LGA came under attack by unknown gunmen, but the local authorities did not beef up security to proper level after them.
