Police Officers Pictured Taking Bribe During Highway Patrol

Just as the spate of armed robbery has been on a high in the country, some police officers have been caught on camera taking bribes from motorists on the highway.

According to a Facebook comment by Aminu Gamawa, a lawyer and conflict resolution analyst, the police officers who were patrolling the highway in Gombe state were extorting the motorists on the road.

He advised the police authorities to ensure that the security of lives and property are paramount in their minds and not their selfish gains.

Recently, Peter Taiwo, a 25-year-old student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Ogun state was battered by a police officer, Emmanuel Ogunlesi.

It was reported that the police officer had earlier attacked two female students at the same institution and had returned later to arrest them. Kehinde Bello, a student and witness, alleged that Ogunlesi attacked Taiwo who he claimed slowed him down, allowing the girls to escape.
