Funeral Arrangements Announced For Ondo Speaker, Adesina

The Ondo State House of Assembly announced today the funeral arrangements for its former Speaker Hon. Samuel Ajayi Adesina, who died in February of cancer.

In a statement issued in Akure, the remains of Adesina will be laid to rest on April 25th.

According to the official statement, the ceremony will be held on April 25.

 

On April 22 there will be a Night of Tributes at Adegbemile Cultural Centre, close to the A division Police Station in Akure.

On Wednesday, April 23, a Service of Songs will travel from Gani Fawehinmmi Arcade along Igbatoro road in Akure and the Valedictory Service and lying-in-state on Thursday April 24 will take place at the Ondo State House of Assembly complex.

The Speaker will be buried in the Christian Wake Keep in Oniparaga - his home town.

The Hon. Adesina was a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) before he joined the Labor Party (LP) in 2010. He was the first lawmaker to be voted to serve three times by his constituents and represent them in the Assembly.

A government official told Saharareporters the absence of the State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko,who has been on an assignment to Abuja, had stalled the perfection of the burial arrangements.
