It could be recalled that each applicant for the immigration job paid N1,000 and according to reports, over 500,000 young Nigerians applied for less than 5,000 positions available at the National Immigration Service.

The decision to refund all applicants fund comes after the President reportedly met on Monday with Moro and the Comptroller General of Immigration, David Paradang over their roles in the shoddy exercise that led to the death of 20 Nigerians.

In a related development, the House of Representatives has summoned Moro even as it investigates the tragic chain of events that transpired last weekend across the Federation.

The House joint Committee on Interior, Labour and Productivity, Public Service Matters, and Justice was mandated to organise an investigative public hearing on the matter, and report back its findings within four weeks.
