Abuja Police DPO Holds G7 Governors Hostage At Kano Government Lodge

At least five factional PDP governors, along with others, had been taken and held hostage in the Kano State Government Lodge in Abuja.

The trapped lawmakers were members of the nPDP, a “breakaway” division of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), who have rejected Bamanga Tukur as their party's national leader.

Sources say the police officers were led by the DPO of Asokoro police division. There reportedly was tension when the security tried to deny entry to the DPO and his retinue of officers.

The siege is now over, as the governors have been released.

More details later.
