Kano Emir Is Expected Back Tomorrow

The Emir of Kano State Alhaji Ado Bayero is expected to arrive to his home state tomorrow, Wednesday, October 2, after spending several months in foreign medical facilities.

It has been learnt from the unofficial palace sources that top members of the emirate council are making "last-minute" arrangements on the eve of the Emir's return.

It was announced last week that the Emir is responding to treatment, and people of Kano were urged to continue praying for his recovery.

Also, one of the Emir's sons and the district head of Dala, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, said in a radio interview that he visited his father at a hospital in Dubai. The Emir was getting better, he said.

The news of the Emir's return was confirmed via telephone conversation by the Special Adviser to Kano state governor on Emirate Council Affairs, Alhaji Tijjani Mailafiya Sanka.

This is the first time the Emir of Kano has spent this much time abroad since he was inaugurated half a century ago.
