Rivers Detectives Commence Search for Kidnapped Anglican Archbishop

Ms. Angela Agabe, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of The Rivers state Police Command, informed that the detectives had commenced search for Bishop Ignatius Kattey and his wife, Beatrice.

Ms. Agabe confirmed that the Bishop and his wife were assaulted at Eleme, in Eleme Local Government Area, on their way to Port Harcourt. She also confirmed the kidnappers abandoned the Bishop’s wife in her husband’s car and fled with Bishop Kattey into the bush.

“As we speak, detectives and our Anti-kidnap Unit are on top of the case, they have commenced serious search to free the bishop unharmed.

“No group has claimed responsibility and no ransom demand has been made,” the PRO said.

The Rivers state Police Command also called the people to provide the police with useful information that would assist it fight crime in the state.
