A 70-year-old man, Isa Hussaini, who has allegedly been stealing for over 15 years has been arraigned before an Upper Customary Court in Sabongari, Kaduna state for goat theft.
According to NAN , Hussaini is facing a one-count charge of theft.
The Police prosecutor, Cpl. Bashir Abdullahi, told the court that the case was reported through a distress call made by the village head of Yakawada, Alhaji Rilwanu Yakawada, in Giwa local government area of the state.
Abdullahi said the accused was found in possession of the stolen goat on June 2, adding that when he was challenged, he confessed to have stolen it. The prosecutor said the offence is contrary to section 319(a) of the penal code.
Meanwhile, the accused person also confessed that he had spent 15 years in stealing business.
He said: "I started this ugly job 15 years ago and I started by stealing maize and later started stealing goats because I sell beef kebab. I steal to feed my two wives and six children."

Hussaini pleaded guilty to the charge preferred against him. The Judge Atiku Sarki-Yohanam, granted him bail in the sum of N30,000 and one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned to June 11, for further hearing.
