Capital FEMI set to dump Kennis Music Label

Yet again, another popular Nigerian artiste Femi Adeyinka a.k.a Capital FEMI has announced that he is quitting Kennis Music, after his recording contract with the entertainment company expired.

FEMI, the younger brother of ace comedian Gbenga Adeyinka, had the option of renewing his contract with Kennis Music, but decided to move on, following some irregularities and shady circumstances that saddled his relationship with the label.

A source close to the R&B/Soul singer squealed to Legit.ng that “as a matter of fact, FEMI only decided to play the role of a gentleman by enduring to complete the tenure of the contract. He wasn’t satisfied with certain things the label did to him.”

Legit.ng exclusive gathered that when Capital FEMI returned to Nigeria from his United States base in 2011, he paid Kennis Music some substantial amount of money to be under their platform, and help manage his career.

“After Gbenga Adeyinka linked FEMI with Kennis Music, both parties spoke extensively and reached a compromise for their modus operandi, but it is unfortunate that despite spending so much, the artiste got less in return because the label didn’t fulfil most of its obligations,” our source said.

However, despite this, FEMI said he is grateful to the label for the “huge support given to his career.” In a recent interview, he said “I am working everyday but sometimes it is worth the wait to gather yourself to prepare new materials for your fans.”

As part of his new moves, FEMI is putting finishing touches to a new single scheduled for release  this month.

Other artistes of the label which includes  Jaywon, Essence and Minjin and a host of others recently left Kennis Music under controversial circumstances.
