Buhari Vows To Punish Corrupt Leaders If Elected

The Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), on Wednesday, said his administration would not condone stealing or any form of corrupt practice from public office holders if elected into power.

He made the declaration in Kaduna at the north-west zonal rally of the APC Presidential Campaign Organization .

General Buhari who addressed party supporters in Hausa language, said his government would not witch-hunt past and present corrupt leaders, who are currently facing trials in various courts across the country, but would allow the courts to decide their fate.

He also explained that anybody who is involved in corrupt practice after he assumes office must face the music.

General Buhari however said that another four years of PDP would make it 20 years of poverty, corruption, lack of electricity as well as several challenges militating against the development of the country.

The APC candidate called on all his supporters to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) because that is the only way they can vote out the PDP from power.

State governors, National and State lawmakers and National and State leadership of the party were all in attendance to canvass for support of the people of the zone.

Before the rally, General Buhari had held a town hall meeting with Christian and Muslim leaders in the zone.

There, he assured them that he has no plan to Islamise Nigeria as being alleged by the PDP.

He also promised to tackle corruption and insurgency in the north-east.

Also speaking at the rally, the Director General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation and Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi and the party’s National Chairman, John Oyegun, accused the PDP of kicking against the use of card readers because of its intention to rig the election.

They also asked all APC members to stay back at polling stations after casting their votes to ensure their votes count.

It will be recalled that General Muhammadu Buhari, had said that as President, he will seeking to serve the Nigerian nation and not to dictate.
