Court Remands Man For Raping 16-Yr-Old Girl

An Ibadan Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded a 30-year-old man, Ramoni Oladejo, in prison custody over alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl.

Chief Magistrate Durosaro Tijani, who remanded Mr. Oladejo in prison pending legal advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, also adjourned the case to July 29.

The prosecutor, Olufemi Eyiaromi, told the court that Mr. Oladejo unlawfully had carnal knowledge of the girl without her consent on May 19 at about 1.30 p.m. at Agbeni area of Ibadan.

The plea of the defendant, who was not represented by a counsel, was not taken.

The prosecutor also told the court that the duplicate copy of the case file had been sent to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
