Pastor’s Concoction Kills One In Delta

A young man whose name was given as Evi Samson reportedly died after consuming a black concoction given him by a pastor (names withheld) of one of the new generation church in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The pastor, who has been arrested by officials of the state police, is also a Registrar in the state’s Magistrate Court, Sunnews reports.

According to the victim’s father, Uwhemwu who reported the incident to the police, he took his son to the pastor for prayer, adding that the pastor then administered black concoction on his son an antidote for an ailment.

He said after the pastor had given his son the black concoction to drink, in the night of the same day, the boy devel­oped swollen head and eyes which he eventually died of.

The pastor who is currently in police custody denied the deceased father’s claim saying, he only gave the boy a bottle of coke to drink.

When contacted on Saturday, DSP Celestina Kalu, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the incident. He said the victim’s corpse has been deposited in the hospi­tal for autopsy.

The spokesman also revealed that secrete investigation into the matter had started, and that during the suspect’s house search, some charms were recovered from the shrine behind the church.

Meanwhile,  a 22-year-old man, Tope Kadiri, who was on a visit to his parents church at Aduragbemi Street, Oworonshoki area of Lagos State was also stabbed to death.
