In Nigeria, the name "Patrick Sawyer" is synonymous to the word ''Ebola''. This is obviously due to the fact the Liberian-American was the one who brought the deadly Virus into the country.

Africa's most populous country, Nigeria, had a clean slate of Ebola case not until the deceased's deliberate entrance into the country, an action which his wife tried to just few days ago. Even the President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan called late Patrick Sawyer "a mad man" after the turn out of the events.

Although many people, both young and old, have lashed out at this Liberian-American, however, only few really know who the late Patrick Sawyer was, which brings us to the 12 things you need to know about the Ebola man.

1. Patrick Sawyer was born in Liberia.

2. He was 40-years-old when he died.

3. He was married to Decontee Sawyer, a radio host in New York.

4. He was a father to 2 daughters.

5. He was  a naturalized U.S. citizen.

6. He was an employee of ECOWAS and Arcellor Mittall.

7. He deceived the Liberian Embassy into believing that he was Ebola-free so as to be able to travel down to Nigeria.

8. He landed in Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, with a further intention to travel to Calabar by air.

9.  Patrick Sawyer was infected with Ebola by his sister, Princess, who died of the disease on the 8th day of July, 2014.

10. Patrick Sawyer travelled from Liberia to Nigeria fully aware that he had the Ebola Virus.

11. He was due to attend an ECOWAS conference in Calabar, the capital of Cross River state.

12. He died of Ebola in Lagos, July 25, at the First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos after coming in contact with at least 44  people, 3 of whom have already died at the time of filing the present list.
