Security Guard Bags 14-Weeks Imprisonment For Burglary

An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday sentenced a security guard, Adeniran Rasheed, to 14 weeks’ imprisonment for house breaking. The Magistrate, Sakirat Olanipekun, gave the convict an option of N1, 300 fine.

Rasheed was arraigned on four-count charges of trespassing, house-breaking, theft and being in possession of stolen items which contravened Sections 342, 355, 286 and 319 of the Penal Code.

Prosecutor Sanni Abdullahi told the court that the convict confessed that he committed the crime and when his house was searched all the stolen items were recovered.

The charge sheet stated that the convict stole one flat screen television, one Imex generator, one home theater with speaker, one DSTV decoder and other valuable items. The convict pleaded guilty to the charges.
