List: FG appoints 42 traditional rulers as university chancellors

  • President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed the Sultan of Sokoto as the chancellor of the University of Ibadan
  • Also, the president appointed Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II. The Ooni of Ife as the chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka
  • HRH, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, Emir of Kano was also appointed as the chancellor of the University of Calabar

Some Nigerian traditional rulers and other individuals have been appointed by the federal government as chancellors and pro-chancellors federal universities and inter-university centres.

Punch Newspaper reports that this was contained in a statement by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.

Meanwhile, a complaint against Nigeria had been made to the WTO. The European Union (EU) reported Nigeria to the international organisation concerning the nation’s policy on dairy products.
