FCT, Abuja - A group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the aegis of APC Legacy Awareness & Campaign (APC-LAC), has declared that the Buhari-led administration committed more resources to infrastructure than any other administration in Nigerian since 1999.

The administrations before President Muhammadu Buhari include former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Late Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, and ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

In its weekly reports of Buhari's legacies through a statement sent to Legit.ng on Monday, June 7, the APC-LAC said more road and rail infrastructure are being built and or completed since Buhari assumed office in 2015 than in the sixteen years between 1999 and 2015.

The statement was signed by some APC chieftains; including the director-general of the Progressive Governors Forum; Salihu Mohammed Lukman, APC youth leader; Barrister Ismaeel Ahmed, former national publicity secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu and presidential aide, Tolu Ogunlesi.

The group noted that with a diverse mix of financing options in place, the Buhari administration has broken Nigeria’s decades-old infrastructure development jinx and set new standards for future administrations to build upon.

Part of the statement read:

“From the start, President Buhari promised to complete as many abandoned projects as possible, and he has worked hard to fulfill this promise. His administration has committed more resources to infrastructure than any other administration since 1999.
“It is no coincidence that the last time Nigeria saw an infrastructure revolution on this scale was during the period, in the late 1990s when the president ran the Petroleum Trust Fund.”

Recall that the APC-LAC had last week said the Buhari-led administration has been laying a foundation for Nigeria's greatness.

According to the group, a lot of the investments and reforms being made currently should have been done long before now by successive Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administrations.

In a statement sent to Legit.ng on Wednesday, June 2, the group said if the opposition PDP and its leadership want to join in criticizing and opposing the APC administration, it must do so by presenting to Nigerians what they did comparatively during their 16-year stewardship.

Meanwhile, Buhari's spokesman, Femi Adesina on Saturday, May 29 declared that Nigeria has become a better country than it was before the president’s ascension into office in 2015.

Adesina, a veteran journalist, made the assertion in an article he shared on his social media pages to commemorate Buhari’s six years in office.

In the article, Adesina reeled out what he called the achievements of the Buhari administration in six years.
