A stunning young lady took to social media to share that she has completed her first degree cum laude. 20-year-old Theshaya Naidoo bagged her Bachelor of Social Sciences. She shared an inspiring post about her past on Twitter.

According to Theshaya, she failed mathematics in high school. With just 16% in her final exams in 2017, she didn't allow that to deter her. During a global pandemic where classes were scarce and many students were being forced to work on their own, Theshaya shone.

Not only did Theshaya graduate cum laude but she bagged a whopping 16 distinctions. Her story is truly one for the books.

She wrote:

"I had 16% for mathematics in the 2017 NSc examinations. In 2020, during a global pandemic, I completed my first degree at 20 with cum laude with sixteen distinction. Ladies and gentlemen. Her."

According to UKZN, in 2018 Theshaya was awarded the Emma Smith Overseas Scholarship which recognises exceptional academic performance. She also received a bursary in 2019.

She said:

“Completing my first degree at the age of 20 with a cum laude pass and 16 distinctions after very average marks in matric was confirmation that I could achieve anything with a goal and plan.”

Theshaya is also a social media influencer who runs three businesses.

Another academic success story

In similar news, a lady identified as Tuana Yazici celebrated her achievement after graduating with distinction from the higher institution.

Tuana said she took 27 credits in her last semester in school to graduate early and made A+ in all her courses.

The lady said she will be doing her masters in International Administration before going to law school.
