A lady recently marked her wedding anniversary with a shocking tale of her first-hand experience in her previous marriage.
In a Facebook post by Ovularia Ragnar Adannaya narrating the story, the Nigerian lady said she had divorced in the year 1998 with 3 kids in her custody after series of domestic violence at the hand of her pastor husband.
According to her, she couldn't return to her police officer dad who was strongly against divorce and would rather 'death do them part.'
A high school dropout then, the unidentified lady was sheltered by a local church and with the help of good Samaritans returned to higher institution to pursue her law dream.
In the lengthy read, the woman who had always wanted to remarry kept at it against all odds.
Eventually, she would get married to a man far away in the United States who happened to see her in his dream as his 'destined wife.' He connected with her through her cousin and in 2008 they exchanged marital vows.
Her post read in part:
"I am a survivor of domestic violence; After 9years with 3 children and repeated attempts to escape, I left with nothing but my 3 children on the morning of August 26th 1998 at the age of 28.
"We were basically homeless squatters because no one wanted to accommodate a mother and three children especially that my vindictive ex-husband was threatening those trying to help me and kids with police arrest and accusing any male helper of being my lover.

"There were no mobile phones and social media in 1998 to even reach out for help from organizations that can help.
"I always wanted to remarry eventually.
"But being divorced with 3 children makes it twice harder, some men feel they're doing you a favor because you're a divorcee with children termed "baggages". Others couldn't even consider marriage at all, they wanted me as mistress or side chick.
"Back in 2007 December my now husband said he dreamt in the US; he saw a pretty fair lady who told him she’ll marry him."
Social media users took to the comment section to felicitate with the lady on the occasion of her wedding anniversary, many others found her story inspiring.
