Yinka Odumakin's Death: Shehu Sani Blows hot, Blasts Prominent Nigerians Praising Afenifere Spokesman

Barely twenty-four hours after the death of Yinka Odumakin, the national publicity secretary of Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, former senator Shehu Sani has reacted.
Sani, who represented Kaduna Central during the eighth National Assembly, wondered why those who defamed the Afenifere spokesperson for every statement he made are now praising him when he is dead.
Legit.ng recalls that the Afenifere spokesman died on Saturday, April 3, at the intensive care unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where he was being treated for respiratory issues due to COVID-19 complications.

News of his death was confirmed by his wife, Mrs. Joe Okei-Odumakin.
In a tweet on Sunday, April 4, the former member of the upper chamber, hinted that some of the people mourning Odumakin viewed him as a thorn and an irritant on their path.
According to the former lawmaker, they never called him or pick his calls.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the activist's death has been trailed by reactions.
The minister of state for labour, Festus Keyamo, said Odumakin's death is a personal loss to him. Expressing his deepest condolences to the wife and family, he wrote:
"Himself & the wife, Joe, have been my long-time friends & allies. I knew them separately before they met & got married. I just called the wife’s line & they’re still at the hospital."
Omoyele Sowore, a presidential candidate during the 2019 general elections, said death is a necessary end.
A former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, said Odumakin was a man who stood for justice and fairness.
Similarly, President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family and friends of Odumakin.
The president in a statement released by one of his aides, Femi Adesina, expressed sorrow at the death of the human rights activist, who according to him still had more to contribute to the nation at large.
The president offered prayers to God, asking that the soul of the deceased be granted repose. He also prayed that all who mourn the departed activist be comforted.
