- Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has been hailed for his positive contributions to the Nigerian economy
- The vice president's contributions were acknowledged in an article by The UK Guardian
- VP Osinbajo's contributions to the Buhari administration were earlier acknowledged by the BBC
A recent article by The UK Guardian has hailed the impact and influence Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has had on government and Nigeria as deputy to President Muhammadu Buhari since 2015.
In the piece titled, Osinbajo defies expectations as Nigeria’s vice-president, under its Global development column, the respected UK media group noted that Osinbajo has spearheaded many impactful projects under the Buhari administration.
The projects include the Ease of Doing Business, Home Grown School Feeding Programme, MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) clinics, and the national social register.
Another Western media, the BBC in a previous article stated this about Osinbajo:
“A former law professor, the vice-president comes across as quiet, unassuming, and hardworking.”
Many Nigerians have in the past, described Osinbajo as the best vice president Nigeria has ever had.
Some Nigerians responded under the tweet by the UK Guardian:
Theresa Tekenah wrote:
“Osinbajo has been an incredible vice president. The best ever.”
David Yakubu wrote:
“The vice president has shown all that every office is important and you can do well no matter the office. We don't need to go down memory lane but he has shown that he is a born leader and has broken all records of vice presidents.”
Oluwafemi Popoola wrote:
“The name "Osinbajo" in Nigerian reality is synonymous with competence, result-driven, and happiness. Who could have thought something nice could come out from the office of the Nigerian vice-president. Osinbajo simply made that happen.”
Don Patrick wrote:
“His leadership style will be on record for many vice presidents yet to come that the office is not a spare office but it has its own relevance.”
Recall that a renowned Nigerian economist, Bismarck Rewane, recently declared that having a public office holder with intellectual depth like Osinbajo is refreshing.
Rewane, the managing director of Financial Derivatives Co. Ltd, made the comment on Monday, March 8 at a special public lecture in commemoration of the vice president's 64th birthday in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
In a related development, the Buhari Osinbajo Solidarity Front, BOSF described Osinbajo as Nigeria's most loved number two citizen and most hardworking vice president in the nation's history.
The group further stated that VP Osinbajo is different and a breath of fresh air in Nigeria’s politics, adding that he embodies what the role of a public officer and politician should be.
