Just as there are several players who have won the prestigious Champions League title, some other flops too have been chanced to lift the silverware in their time.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the most successful superstar in the history of the competition with five titles while many others have won it four times including Lionel Messi.
Meanwhile, stars like Gianluigi Buffon have starred in the final of the championship three times without getting lucky and he is hoping to stay on till he could win it.

Alberto Moreno (Liverpool)
The Spaniard was part of the Liverpool squad that won the title in 2019 despite playing little or no part in their European success.
He moved to Villarreal that same summer after being considered surplus to requirement at Anfield having joined them from Sevilla in 2014.
Kiko Casilla (Real Madrid)
Casilla was an unused substitute when Los Blancos defeated Liverpool in the final of the 2018 edition of the cup competition.
The goalkeeper made just 25 appearances during his three-and-a-half-year reign at the Santiago Bernabeu despite uncertainty in the position raised by Iker Casillas’ departure.
Jese Rodriguez (Real Madrid)
The 28-year-old spent five seasons with the Galacticos winning two Champions League titles during his stay at the club.
Despite playing for top clubs like Real and PSG among others, his performances do not match up with the profile of the clubs of some of those clubs.
Jeremy Mathieu (Barcelona)
The Frenchman won the title for the first time in his life in the 2014-15 season while playing for the Catalans. He also won eight other major titles during his three-year reign at Camp Nou.
Ross Turnbull (Chelsea)
Turnbull joined Chelsea in 2009 with hopes of contending the number one jersey with Petr Cech but he ended up making just 19 appearances in four seasons.
Regardless, he ended his career with two FA Cup winners’ medals and a Champions League honour after the Blues’ dramatic win over Bayern Munich at the Allianz.
Ibrahim Affelay (Barcelona)
The second player who went from Champions League winners to Stoke City outcast, Afellay never lived up to his brilliant potential as a youngster.
After bursting on the scene with PSV, he earned his dream move to Camp Nou in 2010. And that is pretty much where his promising story ended.
