- According to the actress, he is not in the position to warn women against feminism because he has enjoyed its dividends
- Georgina also noted that the obsession of pastors with preaching submission is irritating
US-based Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha, recently took a swipe at clergyman, Mike Bamiloye, condemning his definition of feminism.
This was after Mike took to social media to warn women against joining the feminist movement because it is set to contest for the head of the home.
In a post which she put up on Instagram, the actress registered her displeasure and disappointment seeing that a lot of people watched his movies which left prints on them.
Speaking further, Georgina stated that the clergyman is not in a position to bash feminism because getting to work with his wife in his movies as part of his ministry was him enjoying the dividends of feminism.
The movie star noted that people like Mike in revered positions saying trash is the reason women have been reduced to commodities and abused properties.
She also said that demanding equal rights, pay and respect should not translate to sin, but so many pastors continue to take advantage of the scriptures, perverting it to soothe their own fragile masculinity.
Excerpt from her post reads:
"These are the kind of teachings and preaching from men of God that are supposed to be spiritual leaders are teaching Nigerians, yet we wonder why women in Nigeria are seen as commodities, properties and are constantly abused by society. Yet this same pastor has enjoyed the dividends of feminism because we all watched his wife growing up as a part of his ministry."
Georgina also dropped a video still addressing the topic and talked about men's obsession with demanding respect from women.
"Our pastors are quick to demand respect and submission yet they forget the part of the scriptures that tells them to love their wives."
