Lionel Messi who is the captain of Spanish giants Barcelona has been named as football's real GOAT during the coverage of the NFL Super Bowl who rated the Argentine high above Ronaldo.

The debate on who is the best between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will continue to go on as long as these two superstars are playing the round leather game.

Sunday's coverage of the Super Bowl controversially opted for Lionel Messi ahead of Ronaldo in the GOAT stakes which was a decision that brought plenty of discussion.

Buccaneers star Tom Brady, who now has seven Super Bowl wins to his name after Sunday's win, featured in the graphic while NBA great Michael Jordan and NHL legend Wayne Gretzky line-up alongside Barca forward Lionel Messi.

According to the tweet made available, Lionel Messi was being applauded for winning four Champions League title whereas Cristiano Ronaldo has won five.

The Portugal international won one when he was playing for Premier League side Manchester United and lifted four at Spanish champions Real Madrid before moving to Juventus.

For the past two seasons that Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing for reigning Italian champions Juventus, he has not won the Champions League title and even Lionel Messi has not for Barcelona.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Murtaza Ahmadi became famous in 2016 after a picture of him surfaced online where the little boy wore a plastic bag replica of Lionel Messi’s shirt.

Murtaza’s older brother Hamayoun had posted pictures on Facebook and it went viral capturing Lionel Messi’s attention.

The Argentina captain then sent a signed jersey and a football to Murtaza, a kind gesture which consequently lead to hostility from Ahmadi's neighbours in Jaghori.
