Nigerians react to Obaseki's court victory against APC

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state has emerged victorious in the certificate forgery suit instituted against him by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and one of its members, Edobor Williams.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Saturday, January 9, dismissed the suit on the grounds that the plaintiffs failed to prove their claim that Obaseki forged the academic certificates he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The development has drawn reactions from Nigerians on social media with diverse perspectives.

Meanwhile, Governor Obaseki has expressed delight over his victory in the certificate forgery case.

In a brief statement, the governor described the verdict as a victory for the rule of law.

He said the lawsuit was just a waste of his and Edo people's time by some desperate individuals who want to get to the government house through the backdoor.
