A former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has given tips on how the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can emerge victorious in the 2023 general elections.

The politician who was the 2019 presidential candidate of the party said the PDP must be united to secure electoral victories in 2023, Vanguard reported.

He gave the advice on Tuesday, December 29, at a political event at Afikpo south local government area in Ebonyi south senatorial zone.

“For us as a party to continuously emerge victorious in our future elections PDP must remain peaceful and United at all levels as togetherness is the key to our electoral success, we have the numbers, the people, the strength, the strategy and leaders in Ebonyi state."

According to Leadership, Atiku said the PDP is waxing stronger in Ebonyi state. He urged party members in the state to remain undeterred in the face of challenges.

Meanwhile, in its efforts to tame the crisis over who becomes the leader of the party in the southwest between Governor Seyi Makinde and the former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, the PDP has assigned a new role to Bukola Saraki-led committee.

This Day reports that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party noted that the crisis is a threat to its survival in the southwest ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Legit.ng gathered that the NWC mandated Saraki-led committee to resolve the feud between the two zonal party chieftains, as part of efforts at repositioning the PDP in the southwest.
