President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, November 25, said that he is proud of his chief of staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.

Legit.ng gathered that Buhari stated this in a statement released by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, on the occasion of Gambari's 76th birthday.

The Nigerian leader who joined the rest of the country to celebrate Gambari described his chief of staff as a remarkable public servant.

The president commended the celebrant’s dedication to public service and also his accomplishments as a senior diplomat.

The country's number 1 citizen took out time to wish Gambari who turned 76 on Tuesday, November 24, a happy birthday.

Buhari prayed that Allah grants Gambari better health and longer life to in order to serve Nigeria and humanity ever more.

The message reads in part:

"Let me also put it on record that Gambari is not your typical textbook idealist. He is down to earth in his approach to issues and he is a team player, which are necessary ingredients for anyone seeking to succeed.
"As you clock 76 on earth, may Allah grant you better health and longer life in order to serve Nigeria and humanity ever more. Your life is worth celebrating because you passionately love your country. I am proud of you and your accomplishments; don't rest on your oars."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that President Buhari felicitated with his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, on his 63rd birthday on Friday, November 20.

The president's message was contained in a statement released by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, on Thursday, November 19.

President Buhari congratulated Jonathan for "a life of service that has brought honour and goodwill to the country."
