Twin brothers score 4.5 and 4.4 GPAs, become valedictorian and salutatorian

Twins identified as Deontae and Deontrae Wright have been named their high school valedictorian and salutatorian after graduating with 4.5 and 4.4 GPAs respectively.

The 17-year-old identical twins who said they like competing with each other plan to study electrical engineering at the Ohio State University, How Africa reports.

Legit.ng notes that Deontae and Deontrae were also able to work two jobs and complete over 70 hours of community service while in school.

They said they were able to achieve their academic feats because of their healthy competition.

Deontrae said:

“We both like to compete against each other. We want to score higher than each other.”

According to Deontae, it feels good to get the desired result after working hard for it.

He said:

“It feels awesome knowing that I put in the hard work and got something out of it. It feels great at the end of the day.”

In similar news, an institution in the United States, Princeton University, chose its first black valedictorian in the school's 274-year history for Princeton’s Class of 2020.

Nicholas Johnson who was named for the position is a Canadian student who studied in operations research and financial engineering.

He said that being considered for the position holds great importance for him, considering how the school is connected with the institution of slavery.
