Former president of America, Barack Obama, has been a very busy person since he left the US presidency. Some of his activities include writing and public speaking.

Business Insider reports that the Obamas have an estimated net worth of $40 million (N15,240,000,000). Throughout his eight-year-presidency, he was only able to make $20 million (N7,620,000,000) from his salary as the first citizen, investments, and book royalties.

His book, Dreams from My Father, was written in 1995 when he was running for his first seat in the Illinois Senate and was later re-released in 2004. The book became a big hit during his first term as president.

He once said on a campaign ground:

"Before this book started selling, we were living in a condo and we had two cars, but one of them was beat up.”

It should be noted that his massive deal with Netflix and the six-figure pension all contribute to the family’s big fortune.

Some of the things the Obamas spend their money on are vacations and making calculative long-term investments in their children’s education.
