Nollywood celebrity, Tonto Dikeh, recently left fans stunned following her interview with entertainment celebrity journalist, Dele Momodu, in which she spoke about forgiveness.

Speaking on her attitude towards forgiveness and vindictiveness, she revealed that a man she loved and respected always spoke to her about the need to forgive and this made her realize it is more about one's need to grow and not about the next person.

The actress who noted that the Bible spoke about forgiveness, admitted that it never really had an impact on her until someone explained it.

Dikeh stated that she forgives a lot but she just doesn’t like to get provoked by the things that the person may do after it. For the controversial celebrity, forgiveness is essential for one's growth.

Asked if there is anyone she would never forgive in her life, she said; “As at this moment, there is nobody I have not forgiven as of today 26 July 2020. As of today, there is nobody I hold a grudge on but there are people who I have forgiven but I would never have a relationship with again.”

On whether she has forgiven her son’s father, she had this to say: “Oh yes, especially him. I forgive him and wish him the best, for my son’s sake. I do. Why not?”

Shortly after the interview went viral, the actress took to her Instagram page to reiterate what she had said during the interview.

She stated that she has chosen to forgive even if the person does not deserve forgiveness or has not asked for it.

According to the post, the mother of one revealed she needed to do it for her growth. She also added that she loved herself so much and so she's going to give herself a chance to also be forgiven by God.

This comes several months after Olakunle Churchill, marked 2020 Father’s Day with emotional words. In an Instagram post, Churchill said that marital challenges do not define a father, adding that a father is not only by fathering a child.

He added that being a father also means taking care of children around you and those that are in great need. Churchill prayed for other fathers around the world, saying that he hopes their children “will not be used as a tool of jealousy because of broken relationships like it’s done in old Era”.
