Wilford and Mary Kepler: Couple of 73 years die hours of each other after contracting COVID-19

- A couple who were married for 73 years died hours apart after they both tested positive for the deadly coronavirus

- The wife, Mary Kepler, died from the deadly disease while the husband, Wilford Kepler, died as a result of a head injury he sustained during a fall

- Mary was 92 years while Wilford was 94 years

A couple who were married for 73 years died within six hours of each other after they both tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.

The couple identified as Wilford and Mary Kepler were transported to Froedtert Hospital in Wisconsin on April 12 after Wilford suffered a fall, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Prior to when the couple were rushed to the hospital, Mary had already tested positive for coronavirus and had been self-isolating at home, but Wilford was tested for the deadly disease upon arrival at the hospital, Independent reports.

Mary passed away at the age of 92 from coronavirus, while Wilford died at the age of 94 due to a traumatic head injury.

The couple, who got married in 1946, died six days after being taken to hospital. Wilford and Mary passed away within six hours of each other.

In other news, two lovers that stay in different countries have devised a means of seeing each other despite border closure by Denmark and Germany over COVID-19.

Karsten Tüchsen Hansen is an 89-year-old retired farmer while his lover Inga Rasmussen is an 85-year-old former caterer.

They both meet at the Mollehusvej border crossing to chat, joke and drink while maintaining a modicum of social distance by sitting down a yard or two apart on either side of the border.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a couple identified as Maureen and William Sharp, who were married for 57 years, died of coronavirus within a day of each other.

Maureen and William, aged 74, were taken to the hospital on Sunday, April 5, but died on April 8 and April 9, respectively.

The couple, who celebrated their 57 years of marriage on Hogmanay – New Year’s Eve, had two daughters, and four grandchildren.

Their daughter, Yvonne, 53, said: "Dad hadn’t been feeling well for about a week, Mum was quicker within a couple of days.

"They got taken to hospital on Sunday and mum died on April 8 and dad died on April 9, less than 24 hours apart. Dad didn’t have a fever when the ambulance came, Mum did."
