Odion Ighalo: Man United reportedly fear losing striker back to China

Manchester United are now reportedly scared of losing Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo back to the Chinese League this summer.

The former Super Eagles man has been wonderful since he joined Manchester United in January from Shanghai Shenhua and has scored four goals for the Old Trafford landlords.

But the Premier League has been suspended indefinitely due to the crisis of coronavirus and Odion Ighalo has not been able to play again for Manchester United.

Shanghai Shenhua only gave Manchester United Odion Ighalo for six months in which the contract is expected to end at the end of June this year.

The Chinese Super League side have made it clear that they want Odion Ighalo to return to their side and they are also ready to make him the highest paid player.

United on the other hand have not decided on the future of Odion Ighalo because the season is yet to be concluded.

Chinese Super League for the coming season is reportedly due to restart on April 18 following a dramatic reduction in cases of coronavirus.

According to ESPN United are concerned that Shanghai will make it difficult for them to extend Ighalo's loan deal despite Fifa's advice on contracts amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Whether Odion Ighalo stays or leaves Manchester United, he has already made record as the first Nigerian to play for the Premier League giants.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo stated emphatically that he wants to remain at Manchester United after his current six-month deal with the Premier League giants.

Manchester United signed Odion Ighalo in January as replacement for injured Marcus Rashford, and he has been fantastic since then scoring four goals in eight games for the Red Devils.

Ighalo has also been able to prove critics wrong with his performances so far for Manchester United as there are now talks of him getting a new deal at Old Trafford.

Although Manchester United chiefs are yet to make any decision on Odion Ighalo's future at the club, but Ole Solskjaer is said to be satisfied with his games.

And while speaking in a question and answer segment with fans on Twitter, a fan asked Odion Ighalo if he would love to stay at Manchester United after the expiration of his contract, and the Nigeria say:''Yes of course,''.
