Confirming the development, a statement signed by Alhaji Usman Alhaji, Kano's secretary to the state government said the emir was dethroned over disrespect to the office of the governor.

The state government later announced Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the son of Sanusi's predecessor, as the new emir for the ancient town.

Reacting to the development, ACF disclosed that all efforts channelled towards reconciling the emir and Governor Ganduje hit the rock as both parties failed to sheath their swords, NAN reports

The group, however, called for calm in the Emirate, saying everything will be brought back to the normal lane.
