All 3 coronavirus suspects test negative in Lagos - Health commissioner

The commissioner for health in Lagos, Akin Abayomi, has confirmed that all the three coronavirus suspects in the state have tested negative to the virus.

Abayomi revealed this on Friday, March 6, through his official Twitter page.

Abayomi, revealing the development, wrote: "All the three COVID19 suspected cases; travellers from France, England and China whose samples were collected yesterday for analysis have tested negative and they have been discharged."

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that two out of the three suspected cases of coronavirus had tested negative for the disease, Osagie Ehanire, the minister of health has disclosed.

The minister who made the disclosure at a news conference in Abuja on Friday, March 6, said the result of the third suspected case is still being awaited.

Osagie asked Nigerians to refrain from discriminating against foreign nationals over fears of the virus.

The minister also urged citizens to maintain good social distance. He said the authorities had already strengthened the screening of every passenger that enters the country.

The update by the minister of health followed a disclosure by Abayomi that there were three suspected cases of coronavirus in the state.
