Coronavirus: Lagos state confirms 3 suspected COVID-19 cases

The Lagos state commissioner for health, Professor Akin Abayomi, has disclosed that there are now three suspected cases of coronavirus in the state.

Abayomi who made the disclosure in a tweet on Thursday, March 5, said the three persons suspected to be infected with the virus disease have been identified and are being tested an isolation containment facility in Yaba Lagos.

He said one case was from France, another from England and the third one from China. The commissioner said samples have been taken from the patients and results are been expected.

However, the disclosure by Lagos state commissioner has alarmed some Nigerians who urged the federal government to prevent foreigners from entering the country in order to reduce the risk of foreigners bringing coronavirus in the country.

Meanwhile, the federal government has finally revealed why it refused to disclose the identity of the Italian who brought coronavirus into Nigeria. According to the FG, this is against medical ethics to do so without his consent.
