United were also chasing a move for Bournemouth striker and they pulled the plug on the final day after the Cherries refused a short term deal for their Norwegian striker.

The Red Devils also went after Paris Saint-Germian's Edison Cavani but the Uruguayan striker decided to stay at the French club until the end of the season.

On the other hand, Tottenham failed to land a striker as a move for Olivier Giroud could not go over the line because Chelsea did not make any signing in the center forward position.
