Jeff Bezos: Amazon CEO is N4.6tr richer as net worth now stands at N46.5tr

Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, is now worth $128.9 billion (N46,597,350,000,000), cementing his position as the world's richest person after Amazon delivered strong holiday sales.

According to the company, analyst expectations were surpassed when quarterly profits and revenue grew by the double digits, Forbes reports.

Legit.ng notes that in recent months, Bezos and Bill Gates had made it to the position of the richest person on earth.

Gates, who is an American business magnate and philanthropist, has a net worth of $110.8 billion (N40,054,200,000,000).

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Forbes gathered 10 biggest billionaires of the decade and explained how they grew their fortunes in the past 10 years.

According to the media, Warren Buffet has been able to maintain and increase his wealth by buying and holding onto his stocks, making his money strategies one of the best.

It should be noted that Amazon boss, Bezos, still leads the pack despite the fact that he weathered through the most expensive divorce in history.

In other news, billionaire business magnate and philanthropist Bill Gates has promised to donate 1.8 billion naira to help fight the spread of coronavirus in Africa.

Gates through his foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, said he would remit a total of 3.6 billion naira, which would be divided equally between China and Africa.

The N1.8 billion allocated for Africa will be used to create centres for disease control and prevention for screening and crisis preparedness in countries that will be deemed to be at high risk of being infected with the dreaded virus.

"The money will be spent on emergency funds and corresponding technical support to help frontline responders in China and Africa accelerate their efforts to contain the global spread of 2019-nCoV," the foundation said in a press release.

The first case of coronavirus was reported in the central Chinese city of Wuhan at the end of December 2019 and has since spread across the globe with latest reports indicating at least 14 countries have been affected so far.
