- Adjoto also vowed to organise a mass protest in Abuja to force Oshiomhole to resign his position as the APC chairman
- The former speaker who is now a special adviser under Governor Godwin Obaseki accused Oshiomhole of greed and hypocrisy
The crisis in the Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is far from being over as the ex-speaker of the state House of Assembly, Kabiru Adjoto, threatened to expose the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
According to a report filed by The Nation, Adjoto who is now a special adviser under Governor Godwin Obaseki also vowed to organise a mass protest in Abuja to force Oshiomhole to resign his position as the APC chairman.
Legit.ng gathers that the former speaker accused Oshiomhole of greed and hypocrisy. He claimed the APC chairman became the Edo state governor by fighting godfatherism, saying he (Oshiomhole) has also turned himself to a godfather.
Adjoto also dismissed the speculations that Governor Obaseki was planning to defect ahead of the 2020 governorship election.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Governor Obaseki claimed that Oshiomhole laid traps for him but he overcame them.
He made the claim during a meeting with APC members from all the wards and local government areas in Edo North at Jattu-Uzaire.
According to Obaseki, Oshiomhole tried to entrap him by picking Philip Shaibu as his deputy and Osarodion Ogie as Secretary to the State Government, thinking the trio would quarrel and fall apart.
Obaseki said Oshiomhole would only be accepted back into the party when he is remorseful.
Oshiomhole had earlier reportedly rejected the Christmas gift sent to him by Governor Obaseki.
According to the special adviser on media and communication strategy to the Edo state governor, Crusoe Osaige, the gift sent to Oshiomhole included four cows and 10 bags of rice.
He said: “The messengers said they met the mother of the former governor who rejected the items, stating that her son would not accept the gifts.”
