Natalia Escudero, a Spanish TV reporter, quit her job while on air after she won a lottery, only to realise that the money she won was actually smaller than her expectation.

The RTVE newswoman quickly tendered an apology to her viewers after learning the €4 million (N1,602,609,030) was actually €5,000 (N2,003,369.74), Daily Mail reports.

The funniest of it all happened when she told her colleagues she would not be turning up for work the next day.

After the event, she went on her Twitter page to tell her viewers that she was indeed sorry for her behaviour on air and her lack of professionalism.

Escudero also explained that she has been having a tough time and would be taking some time off on a planned holiday.
